Poster Session

A poster session will be held during lunch on Wednesday, October 22nd from 12:10 to 1:30 pm at the Eccles Conference Center. Poster submissions are encouraged from anyone wanting to highlight their work and ideas regarding management of resilient riparian corridors. The deadline for submissions has yet to be determined, though submitting earlier may help assure that we have space for your poster. Please note that all presenters must register for the conference and cover their own travel costs.

Instructions for Submitting a Poster Abstract

Individuals interested in submitting a poster to the 2014 Restoring the West Conference Poster Session will need to send an abstract via email to Darren McAvoy at darren.mcavoy@usu.edu. The deadline to submit your abstract is October 7, 2014. We will let you know soon after your submission if your poster has been accepted or not. Poster abstracts will be included in the conference booklet.

Abstracts should be formatted as follows:

  • Title; keep the title of the abstract as concise as possible.
  • List senior author first.
  • Bold the name of the presenting author.
  • Include author affiliation (agency, non-profit, etc.), city, and state with authors’ names, but do not list professional title of authors.
  • Apply bolding, italics, underlining, superscripts and subscripts in your main text as you want them to appear in your final abstract.
  • At the bottom of the abstract, include the following contact information for the presenter: First and last name of presenter, affiliation, mailing address, city, state, zip code, phone number, and email address.

Instructions for Preparing and Presenting a Poster

Display Size – Posters will be placed on horizontally-oriented mounting boards that will rest on easels. Mounting boards are 4 feet high by 8 feet wide, but a suggested maximum poster size is 4 four feet high x 6 feet wide, to allow room to stand and circulate, since the boards will be placed immediately adjacent to one another.

Set-up Times – Set-up time for presenters is Tuesday, October 21st from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm at the Eccles Conference Center. We will provide thumb tacks.

Poster Session Time – The Poster Session will take place during lunch on Wednesday, Oct 16th from 12:10 pm to 1:30 pm. Poster presenters are requested to be stationed at their posters during as much of this time as possible to answer questions and interact with participants.

Removal Time – Posters will need to be removed by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22nd.
